Summary
We are looking for Event Volunteers to help us raise vital funds to support family carers with free, dementia-specific home respiteDetailed description
Dementia Carers Respite provides free, dementia-specific home respite to family carers, giving them the chance to rest and regain their energy. As we grow, we need event volunteers to help with a variety of fundraising activities—from collecting donations at Tesco, representing us at community fairs, to supporting larger campaigns like organising a skydiving event.
As an Event Volunteer you will play an essential role in our fundraising efforts. We provide guidance, training, and ongoing support, so you can confidently contribute to our events and campaigns, whether it’s greeting the public, preparing materials, or helping coordinate activities.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Supporting the set-up and running of fundraising events.
- Raising awareness of our charity and the need for dementia-specific respite.
- Assisting with event preparation, including coordinating volunteers, preparing materials, and liaising with local businesses.
- Identifying potential sources of funding and support for the charity.
What We’re Looking For:
- Volunteers aged 16 or over who are reliable and committed.
- Friendly, enthusiastic, and confident in engaging with the public.
- Organised and able to work well in a team.
- Comfortable using a computer for basic tasks such as email and documents.
- Previous events or fundraising experience is beneficial but not essential.
What’s in It for You?
- Make a real difference to Dementia Carers, giving them a valuable chance to rest.
- Join a supportive and friendly team of volunteers.
- Learn new skills in fundraising, event organisation, customer service, and teamwork.
- Flexible role that can fit around your availability.
- Full induction, training, and ongoing support provided.
Practical Considerations:
- Volunteers will be briefed on our policies and practices.
- The role involves interacting with the public at events, so a friendly and approachable manner is essential.
💜 Volunteering with us changes lives—for Dementia Carers, and for you too.
Your contribution will directly help carers take a break, recharge, and continue their important work.
