Detailed description
The EDI Support role helps strengthen our commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion across all programmes. Working closely with staff and community partners, you will ensure that participant voices are heard, barriers are identified, and inclusive practice is consistently embedded throughout our organisation.
Key Responsibilities
1. EDI Insight & Session Engagement (“Voice of Inclusion”)
- Attend programme sessions to speak with participants, gather insight and experiences, and provide unbiased, constructive feedback.
- Identify barriers to participation and opportunities to enhance inclusion.
- Act as a trusted, neutral point of contact to represent diverse voices.
2. Policy & Practice Support
- Support the development, review, and implementation of EDI policies and action plans.
- Help ensure organisational activities align with best practice and current EDI standards in the sport and charity sector.
3. Data & Evidence Gathering
- Assist with collecting, analysing, and organising EDI-related data, including participation trends, demographics, and feedback.
- Use evidence to inform recommendations and support ongoing monitoring and reporting.
4. Partnership Building
- Help build and maintain positive relationships with community groups, local organisations, and stakeholders representing diverse communities.
- Support outreach and engagement activities aimed at improving accessibility and representation.
5. EDI Calendar & Awareness Activities
- Contribute to the creation and delivery of an annual EDI calendar, highlighting key cultural dates, awareness campaigns, and inclusion initiatives.
- Support communications and promotion of EDI events and messages.
Who We’re Looking For
- Experience working within the sport or charity sector, with a strong understanding of EDI principles.
- Awareness of the needs, perspectives, and strengths of diverse communities.
- Skilled in data collection, organisation, and insight gathering.
- Confident communicator with the ability to gather unbiased feedback sensitively and respectfully.
- Able to build positive relationships and collaborate well with others.
- Passionate about promoting fairness, inclusion, and equitable access for all.
