Bid Writing

The Bid Writing Volunteer will support the organisation by researching funding opportunities and helping prepare high-quality bids, proposals, and grant applications. This role is key to strengthening our sustainability and enabling us to deliver impactful programmes for the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Research Funding Opportunities: Identify suitable grants, trusts, foundations, and corporate funding streams that align with our mission and activities.
• Support Bid Writing: Assist in drafting compelling funding applications, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with funder requirements.
• Gather Evidence & Information: Work with staff to collect relevant data, case studies, outcomes, and budget information to support applications.
• Review & Edit Proposals: Help refine existing bids, improve readability, and strengthen key messages.
• Track Deadlines & Submissions: Maintain an organised record of applications, deadlines, and outcomes to support effective planning.
• Contribute to Funding Strategy: Offer ideas and insight to help shape future opportunities and diversify income streams.

Who We’re Looking For

• Strong written communication skills with the ability to write clearly and persuasively.
• Good attention to detail, with experience in research or structured writing (bid writing experience is a bonus but not essential).
• Organised, reliable, and able to manage tasks to meet deadlines.
• Comfortable working independently while also collaborating with staff when needed.
• Enthusiastic about supporting a charity/non-profit and helping secure vital funding.
