We’re looking for Supporting Hands Volunteers to offer practical help and emotional support to patients being cared for in their own homes.
What you’ll be doing:
- Visiting patients at home to offer companionship and conversation
- Helping with light practical tasks — making a cuppa, running errands, or just sitting quietly
- Supporting families and carers with your presence and empathy
- Being a gentle, caring part of someone’s day
What are we looking for?
No clinical experience needed — just warmth, reliability, and a willingness to help. We’ll give you full training and ongoing support so you feel confident and valued.
What’s in it for you?
- 😊 Make a real difference in someone’s life
- 💬 Be part of a compassionate hospice community
- 🧠 Learn new skills and grow in confidence
We are particularly looking for volunteers in the High Wycombe/Amersham area who are willing to travel within a 5 to 10 mile radius. For this role you will need access to your own transport as our patients can be spread across a relatively wide area and may live in places that are difficult to get to by public transport

About Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care
When serious illness strikes, we're here to help people in our community get the best out of every day. From the moment of diagnosis our specialist teams work with each individual to provide the compassionate care they need, in the place that's best for them. This is what we call: extraordinary care, anywhere.
We know that life-limiting illness doesn't just affect the individual, so we care for those around each patient, too – both during an illness and through bereavement.
It takes a whole community to provide this care to everybody who needs it. Our volunteers, supporters and champions in the community are the driving force behind everything we do.
