Volunteers collect and replace our boxes to maintain this significant stream of funding which is vital to helping us support our patients and their families.

Purpose of this role

Rennie Grove Peace collection boxes in our community generate around £20,000 every year. Volunteers who collect and replace our boxes help us maintain this significant stream of funding which is vital to helping us support our patients and their families.

Main tasks

• you will liaise with the community fundraising administrator who co-ordinates the distribution and collection of pub and shop boxes

• the administrator will send you a list of boxes that need collecting in your area, and you will get in touch with those on your list and arrange to swap full boxes for new ones

• once you have collected your boxes, you will bring them into your nearest office and deliver them to the administrator

• if there are any changes to your list you will let the administrator know

• you will be asked to collect a minimum of five boxes usually twice a year

What are we looking for?

  • a friendly and organised person
  • someone who is trustworthy and reliable
  • happy to use your own car to collect boxes and take money to the offices

What's in it for you?

  • you will be out and about in your local community
  • a couple of hours a month of your time will bring valuable funds, so you can still make a contribution even if you don't have much time to spare
  • you will be helping to make a real difference to patients and families in your local community

What you need to know

  • we will pay reasonable expenses, if you wish to claim them
  • as you will be going in and out of shops and pubs etc, we can't guarantee how accessible they will be, but are very happy to discuss any reasonable adjustments you might need

About Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care

When serious illness strikes, we're here to help people in our community get the best out of every day. From the moment of diagnosis our specialist teams work with each individual to provide the compassionate care they need, in the place that's best for them. This is what we call: extraordinary care, anywhere.

We know that life-limiting illness doesn't just affect the individual, so we care for those around each patient, too – both during an illness and through bereavement.

It takes a whole community to provide this care to everybody who needs it. Our volunteers, supporters and champions in the community are the driving force behind everything we do.
