Voluntary Role: Head of Marketing, Branding & Strategy

Organisation: Enhancing Young Adults’ Creative Team

 Commitment: Voluntary / Part-time (flexible)

 Location: Remote / Hybrid (as agreed)

Role Purpose

The Head of Marketing, Branding & Strategy (Volunteer) will take a leadership role in shaping the strategic direction of the Creative Team. In addition to overseeing marketing and branding activity, the postholder will be responsible for developing and embedding clear strategic planning frameworks that guide the team’s creative, promotional, and digital output. This role ensures that all marketing activity is purposeful, aligned to organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Leadership

    • Develop and implement a strategic marketing and creative plan for the Creative Team, setting clear objectives, priorities, and measurable outcomes.
    • Establish short-, medium-, and long-term marketing goals that support organisational growth and visibility.
    • Ensure the Creative Team’s work aligns with the organisation’s mission, values, and audience needs.
    • Apply the 5 Ps of marketing—Product/Service, Place, Price, Promotion, People, and Performance—to strategic planning and decision-making. 

Marketing & Brand Strategy

    • Lead the development and maintenance of a consistent brand identity across all platforms and materials.
    • Set brand guidelines and creative standards and ensure they are followed across digital and printed outputs. 

Digital & Online Presence

    • Oversee website structure, content direction, and messaging to ensure strategic alignment and audience engagement.
    • Plan and coordinate social media strategy, including content themes, scheduling, and performance monitoring. 

Design & Promotional Activity

    • Provide creative direction for design work, including digital, print, and promotional materials.
    • Lead promotional campaigns that increase awareness, participation, and engagement. 

People, Mentoring & Development

  • Support the recruitment of new volunteers to increase the creative team making sure there are no gaps in the structure and all new recruits understand their roles and commitments.
    • Guide the Creative Team, supporting skill development, confidence, and ownership of work.
    • Encourage collaborative working practices and help team members understand how their creative contributions support wider strategy. 

Performance & Evaluation

    • Define success measures for marketing and creative activity and regularly review outcomes.
    • Use feedback, data, and reflection to refine strategy and improve future planning and delivery. 

Skills & Experience (Desirable)

    • Experience in strategic marketing, branding, or creative leadership.
    • Ability to develop and communicate strategic plans in a clear and motivating way.
    • Understanding of websites, social media platforms, and content strategy.
    • Creative judgement in design and branding.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
