A Designer to provide ad hoc creative support to EYAI. This is a flexible voluntary role, ideal for someone who wants to use their design skills to support.

About the role

We are looking for a Volunteer Designer to provide ad hoc creative support to EYAI. This is a flexible voluntary role, ideal for someone who wants to use their design skills to support a community organisation making a positive difference to young people.

The role will involve helping with design tasks as needed, such as creating or updating promotional materials, You will work with the EYAI team on occasional requests, so this role is best suited to someone who can offer support on a flexible, as-needed basis. All support is entirely voluntary.

  • Create or update visual materials for EYAI programmes, events, and community activities.
  • Support the team with posters, flyers, social media graphics, and presentation materials as required.
  • Help ensure designs are clear, engaging, and consistent with EYAI’s values and messaging.
  • Respond to occasional design requests within agreed timeframes.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to understand the purpose and audience for each piece of design work.
  • Share creative ideas to help EYAI communicate effectively with young people, partners, and the wider community.
  • Use your skills to support a local organisation in a meaningful and practical way.

Skills and Experience:

  • A graphic design qualification, such as a diploma, degree, or equivalent relevant training.
  • 2+ years’ experience in graphic design or creating visual content for print or digital use.
  • Confidence using design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to take a brief and turn it into clear visual content.
  • An eye for layout, branding, and accessible design.
  • A flexible and reliable approach to supporting occasional requests.
  • An interest in supporting young people and contributing to the work of a community-focused organisation.
