About the Role

We’re looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to help deliver a positive experience for everyone who visits Pippa’s Community Café. You’ll play a key part in providing refreshments, maintaining our welcoming atmosphere, and working alongside our mentors and other visiting professionals to support our community.

In addition to offering locals a welcoming spot to enjoy a cup of tea and friendly conversation with fun table activities, Pippa’s Community Café also serves as one of Bucks Family Hubs. The café plays a vital role in supporting the local community providing them with the resources, and support they may require, alongside offering volunteering experience and a safe, non-judgemental  environment where young adults can build their confidence and helping them on their path towards employment in the wider community or further education.

·      Engaging warmly and respectfully with all customers and visitors, helping to ensure Pippa’s Café remains a safe, inclusive, and non-judgemental space.

·      Attending training sessions and meetings as needed to carry out your duties effectively.

Essential Skills

·      Team player with the ability to also use your own initiative.

·      Confident in making a good cup of tea or coffee!

·      Non-judgemental and empathetic approach to people from all walks of life.

·      Available to volunteer at least two Fridays between 9.30am and 1.30pm a month.

Desirable Skills

·      Some awareness or experience of support services and resources available in the local community would be a bonus.

·      Have had food hygiene training.

·      DBS certificate.

If you’d like to help foster a friendly, supportive environment at Pippa’s Community Café, we’d love to hear from you. Join us in making a difference one cuppa at a time!
