Could you use your skills and experience to help older people in Buckinghamshire?

At Age UK Buckinghamshire, we believe every older person should have access to the support, information and services they need to live well and independently. Our Support Volunteers play an important role behind the scenes, helping our team deliver valuable services to older people across the county. Whether you're organised, enjoy research, administration or working with data, your support can make a real difference.

What Will I Be Doing?

Many of the services and support we provide rely on volunteers helping with a variety of administrative and project-based tasks. As a Support Volunteer with Age UK Buckinghamshire, you could be involved in:

  • General office administration and correspondence
  • Maintaining and updating databases
  • Researching local services and information for older people
  • Supporting projects and service delivery activities
  • Assisting with other organisational tasks as needed

We'll work with you to identify activities that match your skills, interests and availability.

We're Looking For People Who Are:

  • Friendly and approachable
  • Organised and reliable
  • Comfortable using a computer and carrying out administrative tasks
  • Willing to learn and support others
  • Enthusiastic about helping older people in their community

The Support You'll Receive

No previous experience is needed for many of our support roles. We'll provide:

  • A full induction before you start
  • Training relevant to your role
  • Ongoing support and guidance from our friendly team
  • Opportunities to develop new skills and gain experience
  • Reimbursement of approved expenses

Flexible Volunteering

  • Opportunities can be office-based, remote, or a mixture of both
  • Volunteer around your availability
  • Flexible hours depending on the tasks undertaken
  • A role that can fit around work, study, family or retirement

Why Volunteer?
