About the Role
Are you passionate about bringing people together and creating meaningful community experiences?
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, organised and confident Coffee, Cake & Company Co-ordinator Volunteer to take on a leading role, representing Age UK Buckinghamshire at our Coffee, Cake & Company events. This is a rewarding and flexible opportunity, perfect for someone who enjoys meeting new people, being creative, and making a real difference in their local community.
You will help us create a safe, friendly and welcoming space for older adults in the local community to build new friendships, discover local services and try new activities.
On the day, you will be supported by a team of passionate volunteers to help you make the event a success. You will co-ordinate the activities prior to the event, support with promotion, ensuring that everything runs smoothly on the day and provide feedback from the event to Age UK Buckinghamshire.
From shaping each session to bringing in guest speakers and activities, you’ll play a key part in bringing each coffee morning to life.
With the support of the Community Engagement Officer, you will be:
- Leading and supporting the delivery of Coffee, Cake & Company sessions
- Activity co-ordination for the events (e.g. activity ideas, themes or guest speakers)
- Promoting sessions in the local area to help reach more people
- Liaising with the Community Engagement Officer to plan and review sessions
- Setting up the room on the day and ensuring everything runs smoothly
- Supporting volunteers on the day and ensuring everything runs smoothly
- Welcoming attendees and creating a warm, inclusive atmosphere
- Acting as a main point of contact during the session when needed
- Taking photos (where appropriate) to help share and celebrate the impact
- Gathering feedback to help us continue to grow and improve

Time commitment
You will need to commit to 4 hours per week on specified days.
Training & Support
The Coffee Cake and Company Co-ordinator Volunteer will receive training, resources, and guidance to help them feel confident in delivering these events and representing the charity.
What we’re looking for:
- Someone friendly, approachable and reliable
- Good communication and people skills
- Strong organisational skills
- Passion for supporting older people stay connected and engaged in the community
- Someone who enjoys planning and organising events, whether that’s get-togethers or community activities (no formal experience needed!)
