Help maintain a calm and welcoming outdoor space for a solo residential home.
We are looking for a Volunteer Gardener to support a small, solo residential home for an adult with additional needs in Aston Clinton. The garden is an important part of the home environment, offering a peaceful and enjoyable outdoor space, and your support will help keep it safe, tidy, and welcoming.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys gardening and would like to use their skills to make a meaningful difference in a quiet, low‑pressure setting.
🌱 What you’ll be doing:
- General garden maintenance such as weeding, planting, watering, and tidying
- Seasonal gardening tasks to keep the space looking cared for
- Occasional small outdoor projects (agreed in advance)
- Working independently, with guidance and support from staff
The role does not involve direct care or interaction with the resident.
🌻 What we’re looking for:
- An interest in gardening (experience helpful but not essential)
- A reliable, patient, and respectful approach
- Someone who enjoys working outdoors at their own pace
- Ability to follow basic health and safety guidance
🌼 What you’ll gain:
- The opportunity to make a real difference to a child’s home environment
- A friendly, supportive team who will value your contribution
- The chance to use and develop your practical gardening skills
- A reference for your volunteering (on request)
- Travel expenses reimbursed in line with policy
📍 Practical details:
- Location: Aston Clinton
- Commitment: Flexible – frequency and timings to be agreed
- Age requirement: 18+
- Checks: All volunteers are required to complete an induction and relevant safeguarding checks before starting
If you enjoy gardening and would like to help maintain a calm and supportive outdoor space for a residential home, we’d love to hear from you.
