Help us create a welcoming outdoor space for children with disabilities.
We are looking for a Volunteer Gardener to support a residential service for children with disabilities in Aylesbury. Our garden is an important space where children can relax, play, and enjoy time outdoors, and your help will make a real difference to their everyday experience.
What you’ll be doing:
- Helping to maintain and improve the garden areas (e.g. tidying, planting, weeding, watering)
- Supporting seasonal gardening projects
- Creating a safe, bright, and enjoyable outdoor environment for children and staff
- Working at your own pace – tasks will be flexible and agreed with the team
What we’re looking for:
- An interest in gardening (no formal qualifications needed)
- A friendly, reliable, and patient approach
- Someone who enjoys being outdoors and making a positive impact
- Ability to follow basic health & safety guidance
Experience of gardening is helpful but not essential – we’re more interested in your enthusiasm and willingness to help.
What you’ll gain:
- The chance to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children with disabilities
- A welcoming and supportive team
- An opportunity to use and develop your gardening skills
- A reference for your time volunteering (on request)
- Reasonable travel expenses covered (in line with policy)
Practical details:
- Location: Aylesbury
- Commitment: Flexible – weekends or weekdays, times to be agreed
- Age requirement: 18+
- All volunteers are required to complete an induction and relevant checks before starting
If you’d like to help us keep our outdoor spaces safe, calm, and enjoyable for the children we support, we’d love to hear from you.
