To support the charity’s mission by delivering music therapy sessions that promote emotional well-being, communication, and social interaction.
Detailed description
We are looking for a music therapy volunteer to deliver music therapy sessions to our children with disabilities and learning needs.
- Engage children in musical activities tailored to their abilities and needs (e.g., singing, playing instruments, rhythm exercises).
- Encourage participation and provide positive reinforcement to build confidence and enjoyment.
- Help set up and tidy away instruments and equipment before and after sessions.
- Monitor and support children during sessions, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Work collaboratively with staff and other volunteers to create a nurturing environment.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding policies at all times.

- Passion for music and its therapeutic benefits.
- Empathy, patience, and understanding of diverse needs.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and committed to scheduled sessions.
Training & Support Provided:
- Induction and safeguarding training.
- Ongoing support from the Volunteer Coordinator and Children's Services Coordinator.
- Opportunity to learn about neurodiversity.
Time Commitment:
2–4 hours per month, flexible scheduling, minimum 6-month commitment
