We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated administrative volunteer to help support our charity to complete clerical and administrative tasks.

Detailed description

Role: Volunteer – Administrator  

Location: The Drop-In Centre and Merryville House in Aylesbury 

Time commitment: Flexible/ Ad-hoc 

Manager: Finance and Communications Manager  


What we are looking for 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated administrative volunteer to help support the staff at the Drop-In Centre and Next Step Project to complete clerical and administrative tasks. The administrative volunteer will play a vital role in supporting the smooth and efficient running of the charity. This position involves handling administrative tasks, maintaining records, supporting communications, and assisting with event coordination 


What you will be doing 

Your role will include some of, but is not restricted to, the following tasks: 

  • Copying and filing  
  • Maintain and update records, databases, and files. 
  • Data entry onto CRM systems. 
  • Assist in organising events, workshops, and meetings. 
  • Prepare reports, flyers, documents, and presentations as required. 
  • Communicate effectively with the staff team to ensure smooth operations. 
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the service's privacy policies. 

 

The skills you need 

  • Able to uphold Youth Concern’s values in your role. 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Experience with data entry. 
  • Basic experience of administration duties or similar transferable skills. 
  • Friendly and professional approach. 
  • Ability to be discreet and to deal appropriately with confidential information.

This is a voluntary position, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed. 


What we ask of you  

  • To complete an Enhanced DBS check with us. 
  • To provide two references from non-family members and other relevant documents related to the role 
  • To read, have knowledge of and keep to all the charity’s policies, procedures and guidelines  
  • To complete an induction and any training related to the role 
  • Complete mandatory training and role related renewals, as requested

We are inclusive; we aim to support all 13-25 year olds, but we specialise in helping those facing additional challenges.
