Summary
Wycombe Heritage and Arts Trust- the charity responsible for Wycombe Museum- is seeking new Trustees to complement the skills of other Board members
Detailed description
We are recruiting new Trustees! Could you help lead Wycombe Museum into the future with local partners and communities to ensure a sustainable local museum for everyone?
Wycombe Museum (or ‘The Chair Museum’) is the
long-established, first founded in 1875 and much-loved institution in the Bucks town of High Wycombe.
The charity responsible for the Museum is Wycombe Heritage and Arts Trust (WHAT) with the Museum its only portfolio. As a Trustee you will be part of the dedicated group who serve as members of our Board. Museum operations are led by our Director, supported by her highly committed and able staff and volunteer team; together they run the Museum day-to-day.
Our current Board has created sound foundations for the future. As a new Trustee you will build on their work to ensure Wycombe Museum continues to deliver its vision and strategy for local people.
WHAT Trustees are realistic about the challenges involved. These are difficult economic times for local heritage and culture, particularly for museums. Building financial sustainability has therefore been a strong Board focus for the last five years. Your role as a Trustee will be to support and safeguard the Museum in navigating its path to resilience and sustainability, at the same time broadening its reach and impact.
With fellow Trustees you would be responsible for the overall governance of Wycombe Heritage and Arts Trust with particular regard to delivering its vision and strategy and ensuring that Wycombe Museum is well led.
