School governors wanted for small, rural primary school. Finance skills sought but enthusiasm most important quality, 7 meetings and 2-3 visits per year.

Could You Help Shape the Future of Our School?

School Governor Vacancies — Whaddon Church of England School, Milton Keynes

Whaddon C of E School is a warm, thriving village primary guided by the values of Compassion, Wisdom and Endurance. We are proud of our strong community, our recent positive Ofsted report (April 2026), and our commitment to ensuring every child feels known, valued, and able to let their light shine.

We are currently seeking new governors to join our friendly and dedicated Governing Board. Governors play a vital strategic role: setting direction, holding school leaders to account for educational outcomes, and ensuring the school’s resources are used effectively for the benefit of all pupils.

We are particularly keen to hear from people with experience in financial planning, budgeting, bookkeeping, accountancy, or business management. Our General Purposes and Finance Committee oversees the financial management of the school, and expertise in this area would be a tremendous asset to the Board.

However, we would also be pleased to hear from people with different skills, experience and interests.

No prior experience of school governance is necessary — just enthusiasm, curiosity, and a commitment to children’s education. You do not need to be a Christian. Full induction and training are provided.

These are voluntary roles requiring attendance at seven meetings per year, plus occasional school visits.

If you live or work locally, have a link to Whaddon, or simply care about education in our community, we’d love to hear from you.

To find out more or to express interest, please contact the Chair of Governors via the school office:
