Help shape the future of a growing supported housing organisation by providing strategic guidance, governance oversight and leadership at board level.

Tranquil Minds Supported Housing CIC is seeking dedicated Volunteer Non-Executive Directors to join our board and help guide the strategic development of a growing social impact organisation supporting vulnerable adults across Buckinghamshire.

Tranquil Minds provides supported housing for individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, substance misuse recovery, and those transitioning from custody. Our services aim to provide safe accommodation, stability, and the support residents need to rebuild their lives and move towards independence.

As a Non-Executive Director, you will provide independent oversight, strategic advice, and constructive challenge to the leadership team. The role focuses on governance, accountability, and ensuring the organisation operates responsibly while delivering meaningful outcomes for the people we support.

We welcome individuals from a wide range of backgrounds. Experience in areas such as governance, housing, finance, safeguarding, fundraising, health and social care, legal services, or public sector partnerships would be particularly valuable, though a genuine commitment to social impact is most important.

Board members will support the organisation in areas such as strategic planning, strengthening governance, developing partnerships, and supporting sustainable growth while maintaining high standards of care and safeguarding.

Tranquil Minds is currently entering an exciting stage of development as we expand our supported housing provision and strengthen partnerships with local authorities, health services, and community organisations. This creates an opportunity for board members to help shape the future direction of the organisation and increase the positive impact we deliver within the community.

We are committed to strong governance and transparency and are seeking independent board members who can provide balanced oversight, professional insight, and strategic support as the organisation continues to grow.

Board meetings take place periodically throughout the year and the time commitment is flexible. This is a voluntary role, but it offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute your skills and experience to an organisation dedicated to helping vulnerable people rebuild their lives.

About Tranquil Minds Supported Housing

Tranquil Minds Supported Housing CIC provides safe, stable accommodation and enhanced housing management for adults experiencing homelessness, substance misuse recovery, mental health challenges, and those transitioning back into the community following custody.

Based in Buckinghamshire, we currently support over 25 residents across several shared homes, offering more than just housing. Our approach focuses on rebuilding lives through structure, routine, and practical support that helps residents regain independence and stability.

Many of the individuals we support have faced long periods of instability and social exclusion. Through a safe living environment, clear expectations, and ongoing engagement with support services, we help residents rebuild confidence, develop life skills, and reconnect with their communities.

Our work aims to reduce homelessness, prevent reoffending, and improve wellbeing by providing people with the opportunity to move forward with dignity and purpose. As we continue to grow, we are keen to involve volunteers who share our commitment to supporting vulnerable people and creating lasting, positive change in our local community.
