We are looking for volunteers to survey farmland hedgerows for Brown Hairstreak butterfly eggs.
Help protect one of Britain’s rarest butterflies!
We’re looking for volunteers across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire to help survey for Brown Hairstreak butterfly eggs on local farmland hedgerows this winter. You’ll receive full training at a friendly session on 1st November, then carry out your survey at a time that suits you and the landowner. We’ll assign you a site close to home, and you can take on more if you wish. No experience needed, just an interest in nature, some patience, and access to a car.
Through this experience you will gain training and support from experienced surveyors, the opportunity to contribute directly to butterfly conservation, and time outdoors in the countryside!
Please contact us for more information on how to sign up to the training event. This will be an in-person event held at the Horton-cum-Studley Millennium Hall in Oxfordshire.
