Be part of something new at Wing View Care Centre!
This is an exciting time to join us as we open the doors to our brand new Wing View Care Centre. We’re building a vibrant, welcoming community from the ground up – and we’d love you to be part of it.
At OSJCT, we believe hobbies and passions shouldn’t stop when someone moves into a care home. That’s why all of our homes, including Wing View, offer a wide range of engaging activities – from bingo to baking, sing-alongs to poetry, film nights to armchair exercise.
As a Volunteer Activity Assistant, you’ll be part of our brand-new Activities Team, supporting the Activity Co-ordinator to bring fun and connection to life.
Some residents may need a little encouragement or support to join in – and that’s where you can really make a difference. You’ll also help set up for activities, chat with residents, and gather ideas for future sessions.
Some of our volunteers choose to run their own sessions, like a book club or Knit and Natter group, while others prefer to support the existing schedule – we’re open to your ideas and interests.
You’ll get to know the residents over time, so we’re ideally looking for a regular commitment of a couple of hours a week or an afternoon a month. But we're flexible – let’s have a chat and see what works for both of us.
Come and be part of something special from day one at Wing View!
What we will provide to volunteers
💸 Reimbursement of costsAbout The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT)
As one of the UK’s leading not-for-profit care providers, we support older people across 60+ homes in Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire, Lincolnshire, Oxfordshire, Suffolk, West Sussex, and Wiltshire. From dementia and nursing care to day and respite services, we’re all about providing trusted, personalised support.
Because we’re a charity, any surplus goes straight back into our care, our people, and our residents’ homes. We’re regulated by both the Care Quality Commission and the Charities Commission, so you can trust we’re here for the right reasons.
Volunteers are a huge part of what makes our homes warm, fun, and welcoming. Whether it’s gardening, chatting, or sharing a skill or hobby – there’s something for everyone, and we’ll help you find a role that fits your time and interests.
Forget what you think care homes are like – we’re all about laughter, community, and making every day special.
