Summary

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join us as Volunteers to support local young people who are 'looked after', or 'in care' to access fun activities.

Detailed description

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join us as Volunteers to support local young people who are 'looked after', or have experienced the care system, in accessing their communities for fun activities.

We require you to make a commitment to your young person for a minimum of 2 years. Taking them out once a month, for a few hours, for activities of their choice locally.

Activities can include things like: playing football in the park, trampolining, cinema, food, swimming, climbing, play centres, cycling, board game cafes, escape rooms, circus, shows, concerts, go karting etc.

We reimburse reasonable expenses, including travel, for you and your young person up to around £30 a month.


Duties:

- Arrange and complete activities each month with your young person in their local area.

- Communicate effectively with your young person's carer and your volunteer manager.

- Utilise basic IT skills to complete and send reports each month and claim your expenses.

- Attend quarterly best practice sessions to keep your skills up to date. (these are sometimes in person and sometimes online)


Preferred experience:

- Driving and use of a car due to sometimes rural locations.

- Ability to communicate in English.

- Basic IT proficiency for completing reports and submitting receipts via an App.
