About Missenden Walled Garden

Missenden Walled Garden is an award-winning charity – empowering adults with autism and learning disabilities (our members) to transform their lives through Social Therapeutic Horticulture and community engagement. As a commissioned provider for Adult Social care, we hold a quality assured, ‘5-Star Excellent’ service rating from Buckinghamshire Council.

We support our fifty plus members through teamwork, personal development, community engagement and social inclusion. Our focus is gardening and the outdoor environment.

We do this with a dedicated and passionate team of staff and volunteers. Working together, we support our local community with our gardening skills; along with providing horticultural services, such as: planting and maintaining a 10-acre site for Missenden Abbey (our home), and growing fruit & vegetables for their kitchens. We also have a seasonal plant and produce stall, ‘Pop up and Grow’ which is run by our staff, members, and volunteers. We produce honey and apple juice, propagate plants and prepare craft items. Our additional enrichment opportunities involve beekeeping, the arts, music, dance, bushcraft, sports, and community visits.
