Welcome Volunteers are responsible for staffing the museum, delivering its day to day operations and helping visitors to have an enjoyable visit
This role is public facing and requires volunteers to interact in a friendly manner with visitors.
As part of this role you will need to:
● Greet visitors with a warm and welcoming manner
● Help visitors to find their way and enjoy their experience of the museum
● Encourage visitors to engae with the exhibitions
● Be vigilant regarding the safety and security of our collection and our visitors.
● Be present promptly at the museum to prepare for opening
● Process sales for our museum shop using the SumUp app
● Complete basic housekeeping tasks to keep the museum clean and tidy
● Alert the Duty Manager to any maintenance issues
Skills, experience and qualities
No previous experience is required for this role. Full training will be given and you will be supported and accompanied in the delivery of this role by our Duty Managers and the Museum Manager.
