Join Hogshaw Farm & Wildlife Park as a Conservation Volunteer! Help manage habitats, monitor wildlife and boost biodiversity. No experience needed!
🌿 CONSERVATION VOLUNTEERS WANTED! 🐝
Hogshaw Farm & Wildlife Park is looking for passionate Conservation Volunteers to help us protect, manage and create valuable habitats for wildlife across our site.
If you love being outdoors, getting stuck in and seeing the results of your hard work come to life, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
Our conservation volunteers will play an important role in caring for the diverse habitats around Hogshaw and helping native wildlife thrive. From ancient hedgerows and wildflower meadows to reed beds and newly created wildlife areas, you’ll be getting hands-on with conservation and making a real difference.
🌱 What will you be doing?
As a Conservation Volunteer, you could be involved in:
- 🌳 Hedgerow management – helping manage and maintain hedgerows to provide valuable habitat and food sources for native species.
- 🌼 Wildflower conservation – controlling and monitoring weed growth to reduce competition and give native wildflowers the best chance to flourish.
- 🦋 Meadow management – helping manage our wildflower meadows and carrying out surveys to monitor the species that use them.
- 🐸 Reed bed management – opening up and managing areas of reed bed to create a wider range of habitats for wildlife.
- 🔎 Wildlife monitoring – working alongside our farm team to monitor the wildlife using the site and help us understand how our habitats are changing.
- 🍂 Seasonal habitat management – assisting with the removal of cut vegetation at the appropriate times of year to maintain healthy habitats.
- 🌿 Creating new wildlife areas – getting involved in exciting projects to establish new habitats and improve biodiversity across the park.
🐝 What are we looking for?
You don't need to be a conservation expert to get involved!
We're looking for people who are enthusiastic, reliable and passionate about wildlife and the environment. Whether you're looking to gain practical conservation experience, develop your skills, spend more time outdoors or simply want to give something back to nature, we'd love to hear from you.
Previous experience or expertise in conservation, habitat management, ecology, horticulture or countryside management will be considered.
Experience isn't essential, but if you already have experience using a hedge cutter or strimmer, that's a fantastic bonus! 🌳
We'll provide guidance and support to help you develop your practical conservation skills.
🌍 Why volunteer with us?
This is your chance to get hands-on conservation experience in a working farm and wildlife park, working alongside our team to improve habitats and support native species.
You'll be able to see the direct results of your work — from a newly managed hedgerow buzzing with life, to wildflowers returning to a meadow or wildlife moving into a newly created habitat.
Every pair of hands makes a difference.
If you're ready to get muddy, learn new skills and help make Hogshaw an even better place for wildlife, we want to hear from you!
🌿 Come and help us give nature a home.

About Hogshaw Farm and Wildlife Park
Hogshaw Farm & Wildlife Park first opened to the public in 2014 as ‘Green Dragon Rare Breeds Farm & Eco Centre’ – an environmentally friendly, rare breeds farm park for the local community to enjoy.
Through fun & adventure, we work together to care for our local landscape, conserve our native habitats and protect our natural environment for future generations. Our innovations link with horticultural wilding programmes, the conservation of rare breeds, sustainable farming practices, and education on British and European wildlife.
As a fun and accessible open farm, we provide our community with a space to have adventures, encouraging a connection with nature and inspiring local change for a happier, healthier future.
Through our immersive experiences, family-fun events, and hands-on workshops, we engage & educate in a relaxed way, hoping to to inspire care & awareness for our natural habitats.
Our fabulous farm park team are passionate about bringing you the best of the Buckinghamshire countryside. They are excited to share their experience and insight into the conservation of rare breeds, sustainable farming practices, and to educate us on British and European wildlife, in a way that is fun-filled and hands-on! The perfect family day out!
