Summary
Assist with the running of our popular family workshops by joining our small, friendly team. Events take place on weekends and weekdays during school holidays.Detailed description
Would you like to gain experience working with families and children in heritage? Would you like to put your existing experience working with children to good use?
We are looking for warm, friendly people who want to help provide a positive museum experience for children. You might have lots of experience working with families or none at all: the most important thing is to have energy and enthusiasm!
Working alongside our Education team you will help to support the running of our family workshops. This will include: welcoming families, helping them to engage with our craft activities, assisting with the set up and close down of craft activities and the preparing of workshop materials.
The events we run vary: some are more self-led which people can drop into, others are taught sessions. Recent craft events have included: Make A Mummy, Easter Science, clay sculpture, Make A Puppet, Make A Collage, Cookie Decorating and Potion Making.
You will receive full training and support in this role.
There is no requirement to commit to specific events: you will be informed of upcoming family events and can choose which you would like to help with.
A typical day runs from 10.00-2.30 but shorter hours are absolutely fine.
If you would like to use your existing experience and skills to help new generations foster a love of museums, this is the role for you!
