Are you passionate about helping children enjoy museums?
Would you like to gain experience working with families and children in heritage or would you like to put your existing experience working with children to good use?
We are looking for warm, friendly people who can help to oversee our summer self-led activities. As part of our summer program, we will be including a number of simple science-themed interactive activities and toys to our museum garden. We are looking for people to engage with children and families and help them to use the interactives. This will include welcoming families, showing them how to use the materials and explaining how they work, and encouraging interest by answering questions.
You may also be asked to help answer guests' general questions and patrol the main site to help keep it tidy over the day.
You might have lots of experience working with families or none at all: the most important thing is to have energy and enthusiasm!
You will receive full training and support in this role. Days can be chosen to fit with your schedule.
A museum day runs from 10.00-5.00 and we welcome volunteers for full days (10-5), half days (10-1 or 1-4) or any other time commitment.
