Third in a series of free board effectiveness webinars to help local Buckinghamshire charities become more effective.
A strong board helps a charity focus on long-term impact rather than simply responding to immediate pressures. This requires realistic strategic thinking about risk, financial sustainability and organisational capacity.
Boards should ensure that the organisation makes the most of the funding, assets and expertise it already possesses, while maintaining an appropriate approach to risk that enables innovation without jeopardising stability.
Crucially, effective charities recognise that they cannot achieve their mission alone. Collaboration with partners, funders and other organisations can increase reach, share resources and create greater impact than working in isolation.
What you will take away from this event
We will be once again joined by Nigel Kippax, whose knowledge and experience of the sector will provide understanding of:
- How to assess risks and opportunities through a strategic lens
- The importance of utilising existing funding and assets effectively
- Using collaboration to achieve charitable objectives
This session will also give attendees the opportunity to network with other professions in the small charity sector and share insights.

He believes strongly that leaders in voluntary and corporate organisations have a lot to learn from each other.
