Treasurer

This is a rewarding opportunity to use your financial expertise for good – ensuring the Foodbank continues to operate with strong financial governance and can plan confidently for the future.

You’ll be joining a friendly and committed trustee team, supported by our CEO and experienced finance volunteers. Our current interim Treasurer is a fellow trustee who has kindly stepped in following the death of our much-valued Treasurer, Colin, in May 2025.

What’s involved:

• Review and report on financial performance at bi-monthly trustee meetings
• Ensure good financial policies, controls and reporting are in place
• Liaise with our CEO, independent examiner and volunteer finance team

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has a commitment to Chiltern Foodbank’s mission to end hunger locally
• Understands or is willing to learn about charity governance
• Has knowledge or experience of charity or organisational finance

Our recruitment process

We aim to keep things welcoming and informal:

1. Send us a short CV and covering letter explaining why you're interested and what you could bring to the role.
2. We’ll invite you to meet our CEO, interim treasurer, and chair of trustees for friendly conversations.
3. If all are happy to proceed, you'll be invited to attend a trustee meeting as an observer.
4. The full trustee board will then decide whether to appoint you.
