Help a new ADHD CIC run welcoming, neurodivergent-friendly workshops and community events in Buckinghamshire.
We are looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to support our face-to-face workshops, body doubling sessions and community events.
Tasks may include:
- Helping set up tables, chairs and materials
- Welcoming attendees as they arrive
- Helping people find the right room or activity
- Supporting a calm, friendly and inclusive atmosphere
- Handing out materials or resources
- Helping with refreshments where relevant
- Supporting activity tables or workshop spaces
- Helping pack away at the end of events
This is not an admin role. Volunteers would not be expected to manage bookings, emails, payments, confidential information or event planning.
This role would suit someone who enjoys people, community spaces, events, mental health, ADHD, autism, neurodivergence or social impact work.
Chiltern ADHD Clinic CIC runs free and low-cost support for neurodivergent people, families, students and the wider local community.
Having event support volunteers will help our workshops and community sessions feel organised, welcoming and accessible. Small things like a calm greeting, a clearly set-up room and someone available to help people settle can make a huge difference, especially for people who may feel anxious attending something new.
This support will help us run more events, reduce pressure on facilitators and create spaces where people feel included, understood and able to take part.
We are looking for someone friendly, reliable and comfortable supporting face-to-face events.
No formal experience is needed, but it would help if they have an interest in:
- Community events
- Mental health
- ADHD, autism or neurodivergence
- Supporting people
- Workshops or group spaces
- Charity, CIC or social impact work
The most important qualities are:
- Warm and welcoming
- Reliable and punctual
- Calm and respectful
- Able to follow simple instructions
- Comfortable speaking to attendees
- Non-judgemental and inclusive
- Able to understand confidentiality and boundaries
- Happy to help with practical tasks
Lived experience of ADHD, autism or neurodivergence is very welcome, but not essential. We are also open to younger volunteers, including students, where appropriate and with safeguarding in place.
