Bring your passion for cooking to life at our Recovery Café! Step into a kitchen where every meal you create makes a real difference.

Turn Your Love of Cooking into Something Meaningful

Got a passion for cooking? Ready to make a real impact in your community? Join our Recovery Café as a volunteer chef and general assistant and help create more than just meals—you’ll help create connection, comfort, and hope.

Each weekend, you’ll prepare hearty, home-style dishes for 15–30 people in recovery, turning simple ingredients into something that brings people together. This isn’t just about food—it’s about building a warm, welcoming space where everyone feels they belong. In addition you'll have other duties to help the café run smoothly including liaising with service users and helping to run activities.

What you’ll get in return:

  • Free meals on the day
  • Shopping vouchers
  • Access to training workshops & community events
  • The chance to make a genuine difference

👩‍🍳 We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Enjoy cooking and bringing people together
  • Have experience cooking for groups (home or professional)
  • Can volunteer on weekends

Come be part of something special—where every meal you make helps support someone’s journey to recovery 💛

Getting there

Please find us at One Recovery Bucks on the weekends. The main entrance will be closed but if you enter through the car park at the back you will find us.

About Build on Belief

Build on Belief specialises in designing, implementing and running weekend services for people who are struggling with, or are in recovery from their substance use; namely drugs and alcohol. Although some of our projects run across the week, we always work at the weekend. We see ourselves as providing a new and interactive form of mutual aid. Rather than talk about the past, let's get together and build a new future.
