Bowls Volunteer (Aylesbury Rollers)
Like being part of a team? Enjoy friendly competition and good company?
Join the Aylesbury Rollers Bowls Club as a volunteer and help blind and partially sighted players enjoy this much-loved sport. You don’t need to be an expert — just a friendly, reliable helper who enjoys meeting new people and joining in.
Where & when?
- Indoor: Foxhills, Thursday mornings (Winter)
- Outdoor: Hazels Bowls Club, Tuesday mornings (Summer)
What you will be doing:
- Helping to set up the rink before play
- Marking matches (indicating to players where their wood has landed in relation to the jack)
- Updating scoreboards throughout the match
- Assisting with refreshments and creating a sociable atmosphere
- Helping pack away at the end of the game
- (Optional) Driving members to and from the venue
What skills and experience are needed?
- Friendly, reliable, and a team player
- Good communicator and willing to get stuck in
- No bowls experience required — training will be given
- A basic understanding of bowls is a bonus but not essential
