Bowls Volunteer (Aylesbury Rollers)

Like being part of a team? Enjoy friendly competition and good company?

Join the Aylesbury Rollers Bowls Club as a volunteer and help blind and partially sighted players enjoy this much-loved sport. You don’t need to be an expert — just a friendly, reliable helper who enjoys meeting new people and joining in.

Where & when?

  • Indoor: Foxhills, Thursday mornings (Winter)
  • Outdoor: Hazels Bowls Club, Tuesday mornings (Summer)

What you will be doing:

  • Helping to set up the rink before play
  • Marking matches (indicating to players where their wood has landed in relation to the jack)
  • Updating scoreboards throughout the match
  • Assisting with refreshments and creating a sociable atmosphere
  • Helping pack away at the end of the game
  • (Optional) Driving members to and from the venue

What skills and experience are needed?

  • Friendly, reliable, and a team player
  • Good communicator and willing to get stuck in
  • No bowls experience required — training will be given
  • A basic understanding of bowls is a bonus but not essential

Criminal Record Check Information (DBS):

This role may require an Enhanced DBS check if combined with driving duties (working with adults at risk).
