Could you be a friendly face and a listening ear?

As a Bucks Vision Befriender, you'll help reduce loneliness and isolation by spending time with a blind or partially sighted person in your local community.

Whether you're enjoying a chat over a cup of tea, going for a short walk, visiting a local café or simply sharing conversation, your companionship can make a real difference to someone's wellbeing and confidence.

Visits take place either in the person's home or out in the community at a time that suits you both, allowing you to build a trusted and meaningful friendship over time.

We're looking for caring, patient and reliable volunteers with good listening skills and a genuine interest in helping others. No previous experience is needed—just a friendly approach and the ability to commit to regular visits for at least six months.

If you have a few hours to spare and would like to help someone feel more connected, valued and supported, we'd love to hear from you.

Please note: This role requires an Enhanced DBS check, as you'll be supporting blind and partially sighted adults on a one-to-one basis.
