VOLUNTEER JAMMING SESSION HOST: We are looking for volunteers to run some informal jamming sessions in Marlow Library for children aged 8-12.
We are looking for volunteers to run some informal jamming sessions in Marlow Library for children aged 8-11. We are looking for tutors or proficient learners of musical instruments to act as guides / mentors and encourage learners to have fun!
We are thinking of running the sessions on consecutive Friday afternoons (7, 14, 21 and 28 August from 3-4.30pm), but this is entirely flexible – our only stipulation is that the session/s occur within Library opening hours which during the week are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10-5.

As part of the role you will be required:
- To assist with the setting up process for the activity and help to ensure a safe and comfortable environment
- To meet and greet visitors
- To host the event
- To carry out tasks in a public environment
- To signpost queries from members of the public to the appropriate member of staff
- To take part in an induction process
- To be aware of Buckinghamshire Council’s aims, organisational values and behaviours and their impact on this role.
- To carry out the duties of this role in accordance with the Council’s policies in respect of diversity and community cohesion
Skills required:
- You're a clear and confident communicator, comfortable engaging with people (particularly children).
- An interest in the library service would be beneficial.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Musical skills – can play an instrument and comfortable jamming with others!
