We are seeking volunteers to run Burnham Library's new Teen Neurodiversity Social Club.
We are seeking volunteers with solid experience of working with teenagers with Autism and other neurodivergent conditions such as ADHD and OCD.
(Please note, the teenagers within the group may span all levels of Autism, and some may have additional conditions and/or disabilities).
As a volunteer host overseeing the group, you would help guide the conversation and give the attendees confidence in communicating. The overall aim is to help teenagers interact and make friends in a safe, friendly and low-pressure environment.
You may wish to theme the sessions. We have an established Teen Neurodiversity group in Marlow Library (led by volunteers) who can offer you in-person support, resources, themes, ideas and activities in setting up the new Burnham group, as well as be present for the first session if this would help settle you in!
Sessions would run on alternate Saturdays from 11am for an hour. We are considering a launch date of 25 July but this is entirely flexible.
To apply, or for more information, please get in touch.
