VOLUNTEER SONGWRITER HOST – LYCRICIST We are looking for volunteers with experience of professional songwriting to run children's events on this subject.
VOLUNTEER SONGWRITER HOST – LYCRICIST
We are looking for volunteers with experience of professional songwriting to run a couple of sessions in Marlow Library on how to write great songs!
The events will be aimed at children aged 8-11. We are thinking of running the sessions on Tuesday 18th August and 25th August from 2pm for at least an hour. However, we are flexible and are more than happy to run the sessions at a time and date convenient to the volunteer/s. Our only request is that your sessions takes part in July and August during our opening hours!
Ideally, you would provide an overview of song lyrics, covering principles, features and themes, perhaps mentioning some famous songwriters and their hits. Then the children would have a go at writing their own song lyrics, with your help, advice and suggestions. By the end of the session they would have a draft of a chorus and a couple of verses.
The following session could either carry on from the previous one with further development of the lyrics, or be a brand-new session with new children, starting the process from scratch.
Please note, Marlow Library is open to the public on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 10-5 and Saturdays 10-2.
If this is something you are interested in, please apply and we will get back to you with a volunteer application form.
Thank you for your interest and we look forward to hearing from you.
