We're looking for an energetic individual to recruit local creatives to offer one-off summer sessions at the library during July and August.
This summer’s Open Weekend theme, Roots, Rhythms & Rituals, is a vibrant celebration of the people, places and practices that shape our cultural identity.
Tasks to do in liaison with library staff:
- Contact local artists and makers
- Liaise with them to plan one-off sessions at the library during July and August
- Help prepare and distribute publicity materials
- Be present on the days of the events where possible (Open Weekend dates are 14-15 August, 21-22 August & 28-29 August)
- Signpost queries from members of the public to the appropriate member of staff
- Be a positive ambassador for the library service.
- Take part in an induction process.
- Be aware of Buckinghamshire Council’s aims, organisational values and behaviours and their impact on this role.
- Carry out the duties of this role in accordance with the Council’s policies in respect of diversity and community cohesion.
- Carry out all tasks and responsibilities with reasonable care for the health and safety of others and to co-operate fully with the Council in Health and Safety matters.
Skills required:
- Good communicator and comfortable engaging with people
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative
- Some IT skills (for example, email, internet research, design skills)
