We are looking for volunteers to host children's events throughout the summer holidays.

As part of this year's Summer Reading Challenge, aimed at children aged 4-11, Marlow Library is running music-themed events and we are in need of volunteers to kindly help us bring our vision to life!

The purpose of this role is to welcome and support the children attending our events, and encourage their imagination and creativity so they get the most out of the activity.

Most of our events are paper- and craft-based (paper dolls, bunting . . . ) but some are more creative-writing based like song-writing, and others completely and utterly musical like our jamming sessions.

If you would like to run / oversee any of these hour-long activities, please let me know.

The  calendar is:

    • Saturdays from 11am (4, 11, 18 July, and 1, 8, 15, 22 August) – Board Game & Lego Club

    • Thurs 23 July, 11.30 – Craft Bunting (to decorate children’s library)

    • Fri 24 July, 11.30 – Craft Guitar / Drums

    • Thurs 30 July, 11.30 – Craft A-Z (the alphabet letters will go on display in children’s library)

    • Fri 31 July, 11.30 – Craft Pop Band Paper Dolls

    • Fri 7 Aug, 3pm – Jamming Session

    • Tues 11 Aug, 2pm - Craft Rock Band Paper Dolls

    • Fri 14 Aug, 11.30am - Craft ‘Pop Icons’ Paper Dolls (i.e. Taylor Swift, Harry Styles)

    • Fri 14 Aug, 3pm – Jamming Session

    • Tues 18 Aug, 2pm – Songwriting Session

    • Fri 21 August, 11.30am – Craft ‘K-Pop Band’ Paper Dolls

    • Fri 21 Aug, 3pm – Jamming Session

    • Tues 25 Aug, 2pm – Songwriting Session

If there is an event or several events you would be interested in running / overseeing, please apply and we will get back to you with a volunteer application form.

Thank you for your interest and we look forward to hearing from you.
