Brushwood Junior School are looking for a number of governors to join our Governing Body.

School governors support school leaders at a strategic level with their skills, insights and commitment. 

Although it is a voluntary role you will be part of a friendly and supportive team of governors who contribute greatly to the continued growth and success of the school. 

Do you have :-

  • a passion to support every child / young person to achieve in education- committed to ensuring pupil have access to a positive and safe school environment 
  • people skills and the ability to work well as part of a team- as the role requires regular engagement at governors' meetings (Our meetings are usually held in the evenings and are currently a mixture of face to face and online. There are six meetings per year) and undertaking school visits.
  • an open and honest outlook, with the ability to remain objective in order to come to balanced decisions.
  • Specialist skills such as budget management, data analysis, human resources, health and safety or legal work are also beneficial to the role are also beneficial to the role but not essential.

Full training and support will be provided therefore no previous knowledge of how an educational setting is organised is required. 

Brushwood is a two form entry Junior School rated Outstanding by Ofsted in 2024.  We are fortunate to have  well-kept premises and extensive grounds, and we pride ourselves on the enriching curriculum offered to all our children
