Summary
Would you like to help feed and check over our pigs, sheep and cows at the start of the day? This is an early morning role. 7am to 9am.Detailed description
Session Descriptions
Early Morning: 7am – 9am
- Feed any sheep in special care in barn with lamb finishing nuts
- Feed pigs all ration of pig nuts
- Visual check on fields including check on animals and water troughs
- Refill sheep’s water troughs if needed
- Check condition of pigs’ water trough & fill if needed
- Injections for the sheep in special care in accordance with the agreed schedule
- Pick up poo in the sheep barn
- Pick up poo from pigs in filed and enclosure
- Check pigs’ wallows and refill if needed
- Field walk and check and count the animals (currently 24 sheep, 8 cows)
- Visual check animals for condition eg check any animals separate from the others, check they can stand, are any limping, check for fly-strike in summer
- Check condition of 2 water troughs in field, are they clean? If not, take action.
