Help local young people age gain confidence, develop new skills and discover new adventures while making lifelong friendships.
Help local young people gain confidence, develop new skills and discover new adventures while making lifelong friendships.
Opportunities are available to work with all our sections:
- Beavers (aged 6-8)
- Cubs (aged 8-10.5)
- Scouts (ages 10.5-14)
No previous Scouting experience is required. Full training, support and mentoring are provided, and volunteers can contribute in a way that fits their skills, interests and availability.
As a Volunteer Youth Leader you may help with:
• Running games and activities
• Supporting outdoor adventures and camps
• Teaching practical and life skills
• Encouraging teamwork and confidence
• Helping young people achieve badges and awards
• Supporting community projects and events
Most volunteering takes place during one evening per week, with opportunities to become involved in camps, hikes and special events if you wish.
Volunteering with Scouts is a rewarding way to meet new people, gain valuable experience and make a positive difference in your local community.
DBS required and basic training (including Safety and Safeguarding) will be provided.
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. Whether you have experience working with young people or are completely new to volunteering, we’d love to hear from you.
