Help local young people gain confidence, develop new skills and discover new adventures while making lifelong friendships.
1st Chalfont St Giles Scout Group supports over 140 young people aged 6–18 through our Beaver, Cub, Scout and Explorer sections. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our leadership team and help deliver exciting weekly activities.
No previous Scouting experience is required. Full training, support and mentoring are provided, and volunteers can contribute in a way that fits their skills, interests and availability.
As a Volunteer Youth Leader you may help with:
• Running games and activities
• Supporting outdoor adventures and camps
• Teaching practical and life skills
• Encouraging teamwork and confidence
• Helping young people achieve badges and awards
• Supporting community projects and events
Most volunteering takes place during one evening per week, with opportunities to become involved in camps, hikes and special events if you wish.
Volunteering with Scouts is a rewarding way to meet new people, gain valuable experience and make a positive difference in your local community.
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. Whether you have experience working with young people or are completely new to volunteering, we’d love to hear from you.

About 1st Chalfont St Giles Scout Group
1st Chalfont St Giles Scout Group is a thriving Scout Group providing fun, adventure and skills for life to over 140 young people aged 6–18 from Chalfont St Giles and the surrounding area.
We run Beaver, Cub, Scout and Explorer sections, helping young people develop confidence, teamwork, leadership and practical life skills through a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities, camps and community projects.
Our volunteers come from all backgrounds and no previous Scouting experience is required. Training, support and friendship are provided, and we welcome anyone who would like to make a positive difference in their local community.
