Summary
Whatever your background, identity or ability, there’s a volunteer spot with your name on it. Volunteer to help our young people develop 'Skills For Life'.Detailed description
Adult Uniformed Volunteers needed to help our young people fly!
There are many ways you can help in providing scouting adventures to our young people.
We need help with the roles listed below, but also appreciate help behind the scenes by just giving up as little as an hour or two a month.
- We have families who role share, which makes volunteering easier and more flexible.
- You do not need to have any experience in volunteering or scouting.
- We provide the uniform and all the training is free, with much of it online.
- Everyone who volunteers helps us in some way to ensure we continue to grow and develop as a group.
- If you have children of scouting age, they get priority on the waiting list
- If you have any children you have in scouting, you do not pay subscriptions to be part of the group (currently £195 per year per child)
Many of our volunteers do not have a scouting background at all, but what joins everyone together is the desire to help and support young people grow and develop skills for life.
Uniformed Volunteer Roles:
- Squirrels Magpies (for 4 to 6-year-old children): we meet on Thursday 4pm to 5pm
- Osprey Beavers (for 6 to 8-year-old children): we meet on Thursday 5pm to 6pm
- Eagle Cubs (for 8 to 10-year-old children): we meet on Monday 6pm to 7:30pm
- Hawks Cubs (for 8 to 10-year-old children): we meet on Thursday 6pm to 7:30pm
- Harriers Scouts (for 10 to 14-year-old children): we meet on Thursday 7:30pm to 9pm
As an adult volunteer, helping within a section (Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs or Scouts), to run our activity-filled programmes which are designed to provide our young people with skills for life. Our programme is much more than just hiking, fire lighting and camping. We have adults from diverse backgrounds and skills that help our young people learn, grow and most of all..... have fun!!
We believe that through everyday adventure, new challenges and experiences, we can enrich both young people’s and adults’ lives and true friendships are made along the way. Come and join our adventure…
